the lore of portal is actually pretty sad when you really get deep into most people dont know when caroline was put into glados she didnt remember she just felt hate and wanted to revenge and killed almost everyone accept rat man and chell her daughter basicly rat man adopted chell so caroline and cave could still see her because they would get in trouble if they had a love life in work so yeh rat man adopted her so caroline was able to see then put into glados which rat man put chell into testing while escaping glados which soon relises her concies again and tries to delete caroline but then see its time to let chell go
